Altadena Seed Library is a growing network of seed education and conservation resources. Our mission is to expand equitable access to shade and green spaces, increase food sovereignty, and connect neighbors through direct outreach, seed distribution, and educational programming.

In addition to greening urban spaces, we aim to conserve the plant genetics of Southern California wildlands by introducing a collaborative practice of decentralized seed banking at local nature centers, building capacity for local seed stewards and facilitating the regeneration of hyper-local wild ecosystems.

Following the Eaton Fire, we are supporting health and resilience by providing bioremediation assistance to affected residents at burned lots and contaminated community gardens.
